Indian Creek Nature Center
Indian Creek Nature Center is a nature center and preserve in Cedar Rapids. The land was previously the Bena family farm until it was sold to the city. The original maple sugar house is used for the Maple Syrup Festival.
The nature preserve is 210-acres of prairies, wetlands, and woodlands with five miles of trails. Visitors can go hiking, fishing, birding, or cross-country skiing. Indian Creek Nature Center was built in 1994. The state-of-the-art nature center is fully powered by the solar panels on its roof. There is year-round programing such as yoga class, outdoor classes, and festivals.
Alliant Energy PowerHouse
Alliant Energy PowerHouse is a multi-purpose arena in Downtown Cedar Rapids. They host a variety of sporting and entertainment events. You can see NBA preseason games, high school wrestling and UFC fights. They are the home stadium of the Cedar Rapids River Kings of the Indoor Football League.
The entertainment venue also hosts concerts by national bands such as Mannheim Steamroller and Lady A. In 2013, the arena was updated and renovated to increase seating. Alliant Energy PowerHouse was formerly the U.S. Cellular Center.
Clock House Brewing
Clock House Brewing is a brewpub in Downtown Cedar Rapids. They serve their own beers in a comfortable taproom. Patrons can purchase to-go growlers. In addition, they serve ciders from other breweries.
Located in the historic Clock House Building which is over 100 years old. Patrons can order food from Black Sheep Social Club which is in the same building. Clock House Brewing is the perfect place to try local beer and hang out.
